STACK welcomes SOFTIC as a new partner

The STACK Consortium is pleased to welcome SOFTIC, a Hungary-based software development company that joined the project on 1 April 2026 through the EU Hop-on Facility. SOFTIC will help translate STACK’s frontier research in geometry and computational design into practical, engineering-aware tools for real-world design workflows.

Bringing geometry and engineering closer together

SOFTIC will strengthen the connection between geometric innovation and structural reasoning by developing tools that provide feedback while designs are still evolving. These tools will help users explore how curvature, bending, joint behaviour and simplified load-related logic influence feasibility. Browser-based demonstrators will also make STACK’s methods easier to explore for architects, educators, researchers and industry stakeholders.

Supporting collaboration across disciplines

“For SOFTIC, joining STACK is an exciting opportunity to contribute our experience in 3D software, simulation-driven tools and cloud-based demonstrators to a highly innovative European research project. We look forward to helping translate advanced geometric methods into accessible, engineering-aware workflows for future architectural design practice.”

Miklós Mátis, Managing Director, SOFTIC

SOFTIC will also contribute an engineering collaboration toolkit with templates, workflows, data formats and interface specifications. The toolkit will support clearer handover, repeatable validation and interoperability between computational designers, structural engineers and established simulation environments.

From foundational research to practical application

SOFTIC’s contribution will accelerate STACK’s pathway from foundational research to practical application and strengthen the project’s relevance to the digital transition of the architecture, engineering and construction sector.
