Konstantinos Gavriil leads the Geometry group at SINTEF Digital. His research focuses on applied geometry, geometry processing, computational design, and machine learning, with applications in architecture and digital fabrication.
Konstantinos received his PhD in Technical Mathematics from TU Wien in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Helmut Pottmann, where he developed interactive computational methods for geometry-driven and material-aware architectural design. He previously studied mathematics and computational science at the University of Athens, and has held research positions in geometry groups at TU Wien, Inria Sophia Antipolis, and the University of Athens, working on shape analysis and machine learning for geometric data. During his PhD, he was also a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Evolute GmbH in Vienna, a software and consulting company known for its applied research in architectural geometry and geometry optimization.
In 2021, Konstantinos joined SINTEF, where he now leads the EIC-funded project STACK—a collaboration between SINTEF, DTU, and ZHA—exploring innovative geometry-driven design, optimization, and fabrication methods for dual-configuration stackable freeform structures.

Associate Professor, Technical University of Denmark, Scientific Manager in STACK, WP Leader for Theory II: 3D Elastica

Obtained his PhD in Mathematics at Australian National University (2005), and M.Phil. and MSc. degrees from UPenn and Oxford. He has been employed the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at DTU since 2008, and has an extensive research record in the area of Differential Geometry and applications.

Senior Associate, Computation and Design Group, ZHA, B. Arch., M. Arch., USA-LA Reg., NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, WP Leader for Interdisciplinary Integration

Henry Louth is a Senior Associate at ZHA and co-leads the Computation and Design Group (ZHACODE). With over 17 years of experience in the AEC industry, he has worked across diverse project types, scales, and sectors. A registered architect in the United States and a LEED Accredited Professional, Henry previously managed fast-track project deliveries and retailer rollouts in the U.S. before joining ZHA.
At ZHA, Henry has contributed to projects such as a student housing development in Hong Kong, The Winton Gallery for Mathematics, Morpheus Hotel at City of Dreams Macau, and Xi’an International Football Centre, as well as technology demonstrators like Thallus and the Volu prefabricated dining pavilion. He led the design team for Roatan Prospera, developing a digital platform and systems design for sustainable island housing.
Henry leads research and development at the intersection of computational design, digital fabrication, automation, and urban systems, integrating emerging technologies into both architectural production and planning methodologies. As a key contributor to ZHA’s Technology Laboratory, he helps drive innovation in technology-in-practice, spanning robotic prototyping, advanced fabrication, and creative applications of digital tools in design. His work also extends to urban planning and participatory urbanism, leveraging video game technology for civic engagement and consensus-driven development. This research has led to projects such as a Fortnite experience examining urban intensification and community participation in sustainable design.

Senior Research Scientist, SINTEF, WP Leader for Digital Fabrication

He has a MSc (2005) and PhD (2010) in Engineering Cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Grøtli has been working at SINTEF since 2014. His research interests include system identification, learning-based modeling, control and optimization of dynamical systems, as well as localization, motion planning and control of robotic systems.

Senior Research Scientist, SINTEF, WP Leader for Portfolio Management

He began work at SINTEF in Oslo in 2013 after completing his PhD in the field of Informatics. During his time at SINTEF he has worked on a wide variety of projects related to geometric modelling and processing, as well as holding leadership roles in several EU projects. His current research interests lie in the intersection of geometric modelling with machine learning, and with broader applications to digital twinning.

Founder and Managing Director, SOFTIC, WP Leader for Real-Time Design Feedback and Engineering Validation Tools

Miklos Matis is the founder and Managing Director of SOFTIC, a Hungarian software engineering company established in 2004. He has more than three decades of experience in software development and over 20 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams delivering complex, R&D-driven and mission-critical software systems.
His professional focus spans 3D visualisation, CAD/BIM and structural engineering software, simulation technologies, cloud-native platforms, digital twins, computer vision and artificial intelligence. Under his leadership, SOFTIC has contributed to internationally adopted software products and engineering solutions in collaboration with organisations including Autodesk, Graphisoft, StruSoft and ConSteel.
Within STACK, Miklos leads WP10, which focuses on real-time design feedback, browser-accessible demonstrators, FEM-informed engineering validation and collaboration workflows connecting computational designers with structural engineers. His role is centred on translating STACK’s mathematical and geometric research into robust, accessible and reusable software tools, strengthening the link between scientific innovation, engineering feasibility and practical application in the AEC sector.

Associate Director, Computation and Design Group, ZHA B. Arch., MArch., M.Phil.

Shajay is an Associate Director at ZHA where he co-founded and heads the Computation and Design research group (ZHACODE, 2007). He is an alumnus and a studiomaster at the post-graduate course of Design Research Laboratory at the Architectural Association, London (AADRL, 2006). There he explores the intersection of computational geometry, video game technology, urban development, and industrialised construction.
Shajay pursued his scientific interests in digital design and robotic fabrication during his Doctoral studies at the Block Research Group (BRG, 2022) at the ETH, Zurich and previously as a M.Phil. graduate from University of Bath (2016).

Senior Associate, Computation and Design Group, ZHA B. Arch., M. Arch.

Vishu is a Senior Associate at ZHA, where he co-administers the Computation and Design group (ZHA CODE). He leads the development of a state-of-the-art, proprietary computational code framework to synthesize high-performance geometries and consequently enables their structural optimisation, parametric modelling and coordination. Since joining ZHA, he has been involved in several design competitions and commissions ranging from technology demonstrators, products, galleries, stadiums, metro stations, residential buildings, masterplans etc. to designing for the metaverse and gaming industry.
Vishu, a Masters graduate from the Architectural Association Design Research Lab, is also a Lecturer at Architectural Computation, University College of London (UCL).

He obtained the BSc in Mathematics at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (2022) and the MSc in Mathematics at the University of Copenhagen KU (2024). His background and fields of interest lie within Differential Geometry, Topology and Algebraic Topology.

He obtained his BSc in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and his MSc in Mathematics at the University of Bonn specializing in Geometry. He began his PhD at DTU at the end of 2024 on Modelling with 3D Elastica.
